(Sept 9) The Winnipeg Free Press reported a fine season for
the Dauphin baseball club:
" With only one more game to be played this season
by the Dauphin baseball team, figures released this week reveal that the
club has enjoyed a highly successful season financially. Crowds at
the games have been bigger than ever and enthusiasm for the home team
has been high all year.
For the home games played this year, the ball team
had attracted an estimated attendance of 12, 500. There has been
an average attendance at the games of about 500 persons ... excluding
the July 1 Sports Day, which was sponsored by the Dauphin Athletic
association. Estimated attendance that day was about 6, 000.
Largest single gate this season was brought in by the Ligon All-Stars
when more than 1,000 ball fans packed the local stands. The gate
totalled more than 450 dollars for that one game."
