30) Lefty Oscar Tesch scattered seven hits and fanned eighteen as
Sexsmith won its league opener 6-5. Bill Ulmer had two
hits, including a homer. Bus Brown had two doubles in four trips
and scored the winner.
(June
2) Al Peterson had four hits, including a double and a
homer, to pace Sexsmith to a 10-5 win over Dawson Creek. Oscar
Tesch picked up the win in relief of starter Ed Blenderra who went
six frames, leaving with the score knotted at 4-4. Tesch pitched
no-hit ball, allowing one unearned run.

Manning and Warrensville have advanced to the final of the
Battle
River Baseball League.
Manning whipped North Star 28-3 and 6-5 in their semi-final while
Warrensville topped Deadwood 15-4 and 5-4.
Harold Dzaman tossed a six-hitter for Manning in the first game of
the twin bill. Cliff Spence led the offense with a pair of
homers Manning had 19 hits off North Star's Pete and Johnny
Proskurniak

Yahrm was the winner in the second game over George Hominuik.
Warrensville pushed across seven runs in the first inning of the
opener and never looked back. Jim Diebert went the distance for the win.
Ronnie Diebert got the win in the second tilt.
(August 15) Manning edged Warrensville in the sudden-death
final 8-7.
