Above right - Lethbridge Warrior captain Clarence Yanosik (second from right) meets Medicine Hat manager Lee Dobyns (second from left) at home plate.  Lynn Duncan of the Superiors is at the far left, Frank Amaya of the Warriors, far right. Superiors moved to within a game of Lethbridge in the standings with a 5-2 victory.

Above left -  At the first annual Calgary Tournament, umpire Joe Arisman discusses the ground rules with managers Gord Becroft (middle) of Calgary and George Wesley of Granum.  Sox captured the $1,000 first prize.

Below - Four reasons the Calgary Dodgers won the Medicine Hat tournament.

Left to right second baseman Jerry Lorenz who clouted a homer, outfielder Jim MacDonald with three consecutive singles, shortstop Gord Dolinar with three hits and three runs batted in, and third baseman Bob Foster with a grand slam homer in the seventh to tie the score 12-12 with Lethbridge Warriors. Dodgers won it 14-12 as 10 pitchers saw mound duty.

John Makos - the big right-hander hurled the Red Deer Dodgers to the Northern Alberta Baseball League championship in the deciding game of the final series at Fort Saskatchewan. Makos also clouted a long home run.
