Warriors took both ends of a twin-bill from the Superiors in

regarding a recent match between the Jets and Medicine Hat. The
contest, won by the Superiors, is to be replayed. The protest
arose after a Medicine Hat player had interfered with the Jets' catcher
allowing a run to score. The decision, combined with the Warrior's
doubleheader win on Sunday, moves Lethbridge into the top spot in the
SABL standings. ,

The future of the Calgary franchise is in doubt after owner George
Brookman revealed one player isn't likely to return to the lineup,
another wants to go home because of family problems and a third needs to
return early for a school-teaching assignment. The Lethbridge Herald
reported that the Granum White Sox had fined and fired pitcher Tom
McCaig for an indifferent attitude and catcher Jerry
Bryson was rumoured to have left the team for his home in the United
States. To complicate matters, the Medicine Hat Superiors, led by
owner Tom Shector, are behind a move to oust governor
Peter Sereni because of the decision to uphold a recent
protest by Vauxhall Jets. All three Medicine Hat umpires have quit
because of the decision to uphold the protest. Brookman says
Larry Brown has been given a leave of absence to see his
ailing father and Hank Szostak had asked to leave for
home. Lowell Pearce requested leave to take up a teaching
position.
