was Tedesco's 6th win against just one loss, the best record in the
league. His 62 strikeouts are also tops in the circuit. Bob
Fidler drove in a pair of runs for the winners with a second inning

XXX -- Harry Wise tossed a four-hit
shutout as Yankton downed Valentine 4-0 in Basin League playoff
action. It was the Yankton manager's third straight whitewash. Harvey
Casey matched goose eggs with Wise until the bottom of the 8th Bob
Clem drew the first base on balls given up by Casey and moved to
second when Jim Nelson, attempting a sacrifice, ended up with
a hit past the incoming third sacker. Wise moved both runners along with a
sacrifice and Casey intentionally walked Gene Orf to fill the
bases. Right fielder Harbert Lee drove in a pair with a
single. An error and two walks led to two more markers.
