(June 5) In the season opener in
North Battleford, the Beavers split with Neilberg Monarchs. Bob
McIntyre with a three-hitter bested Roy Rowley,
who gave up six hits, in the pitchers' duel as the Monarchs took
the first game 2-1. Beavers took the 2nd game
14-6. Dean Ward went the distance for the win.
(June 5) The hometown
Kindersley Klippers both both ends of the opening day
double-header, 7-6 and 7-2 over Unity Cardinals. Bill
Humphries won the 1st game in relief of Bentley MacEwen.
Lloyd Rachul was the winner in the 2nd game. Irl
Flanagan suffered both defeats for the Cards.
